Editor’s Note
August 2026
Dear CIGFARO Members, Stakeholders and Valued Readers,
Welcome to the August edition of the CIGFARO Newsletter.
This month’s newsletter highlights some of the key initiatives, programmes and opportunities available to our members and stakeholders. From professional development and training programmes to industry insights and upcoming events, we remain committed to keeping our community informed and connected.
A key highlight on our calendar is the 97th CIGFARO Annual Conference, taking place from 5–8 October 2026 at the Durban ICC, under the theme “Reimagining Public Finance Leadership for a Changing South Africa.” The conference presents an important platform for public sector professionals, thought leaders, policymakers and industry partners to engage on the challenges shaping the future of public finance and governance. We encourage our members and stakeholders to take advantage of this opportunity to connect, learn and be part of these critical conversations.
As we look ahead, we are reminded that meaningful transformation requires more than policies and systems—it requires capable leaders, informed professionals, strong institutions and a collective commitment to accountability.
We thank our members, partners, sponsors, contributors and stakeholders for their continued support of CIGFARO and for the role you play in advancing excellence in public sector finance, audit, risk and performance management.
We hope you enjoy this edition of the newsletter and find the content informative, relevant and valuable.
